Did Mercy and Madonna make it to London? According to many sources, the mother and newly adopted three-year-old landed in the UK yesterday morning June 20th, 2009. Read more and see photos and video here.
Just little over a week ago, Madonna won custody of Malawian orphan Mercy James and now she has been given the go ahead to fly out to Malawi to get her. However, instead, Madonna had a nanny fly with Mercy on a private jet to South Africa on Friday night before taking a first-class flight to Heathrow.
An onlooker says, “Mercy looked slightly confused. It has obviously been a bit like a circus around her over the past few days so it’s not surprising. It was only a day or two ago that she was still in Malawi and now she finds herself in the middle of London without her friends.”
While this will be an adjustment for Mercy James, Mercy’s father James Kambewa is not a happy camper. He says, ‘”My Mercy is gone. Madonna has used her money and power but my blood lives in Mercy for ever and ever. There is nothing I can do now.”
At any rate, we hope that Mercy will grow up to be a happy and healthy child.
