Celine Dion and her husband René Angélil will not be welcoming a baby anytime soon. The singer announced today that she is no longer pregnant, but she and her husband will keep on trying for child number two. Read more about Celine Dion’s miscarriage here.
It has not been an easy journey for Celine Dion and her husband Rene Angelil as they have endured many heartbreaks and set backs during their child bearing experience. Dion and her family reported in August that they were elated that they were to expect their second child through in-vitro fertilization. However today we received the bad news that the embryo transfer was unsuccessful resulting in a miscarriage.
Angelil told Canadian paper Journal de Montreal, “We are living the reality of the majority of couples who have to use [IVF]. The process can be long and arduous. But today, we are full of confidence. Celine is more determined than ever.”
He adds, “Dr. Zev Rosenwaks believed that the procedure/pregnancy took, but that wasn’t the case. We found out some days later. We were shocked. But you know Céline. She doesn’t let go.”
About not giving up hope, Rene says, “I admire all the women who go through such a tough process. Since April, she has undergone numerous examinations, multiple hormone injections and blood tests. Céline and I didn’t get discouraged … we put our faith in life and in the stars.”
Celine Dion’s miscarriage may have been devastating for both Dion and Angelil, but hope is never lost. The couple do already have one child René-Charles who was born in 2001. Our thoughts are with Celine and her family.
