Sesame Street’s 40th anniversary is being celebrated by various tributes including Big Bird’s legs featured on Google’s home page today, also known as the Google Doodle. Up until November 10th, with the official Sesame Street anniversary, you can expect to see different changes made to the homepage of the top search engine in celebration of various characters of the kids’ educational show.

In addition to Google’s tribute, fans can expect a reissuing of three classic Sesame Street albums by Koch Records. According to a source, a cover album of favorite Sesame Street and Muppet Show songs will be released in the near future. And even more, early next year Walt Disney Records will release Muppets Revisited, which includes a CD of covers by musicians like Weezer, My Morning Jacket, and Andrew Bird.

Congratulations to PBS and Sesame Street on forty great years of educational entertainment! Keep checking out the Google Doodle this week for those super cute Muppet images.
